The Greek Film Archive will screen Iranian films in February, sponsored by the cultural center of the embassy of Iran.

A series of Iranian films will be screened to the public, with free admittance, at the center in the Greek capital, Athens, from February 1 to 4.

The event includes the screening of eight recently produced films, including two documentaries, on daily life in different regions of Iran.

Each screen will have a 25-minute prelude documentary titled ‘Spring Wind’, which promotes tourist sites of Iran.

The event is sponsored by the cultural center of the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Special guest appearances will be made by filmmakers and experts in the field, including Mohammad Ghanefard, director of the first film to be screened ‘The Last Supper’.

The production details the old Christian village of Maalula in Syria, where Christians coexist with Muslims and a form of Aramaic is spoken.

The Greek Film Archive is a nonprofit film archive organization whose goal is to develop cultural and artistic relations throughout the globe and to promot Greek and international film heritage.
